Historically, NCT has focused its efforts on the (001) crystal orientation to advance wafer scaling and device development. However, recent studies have reported that epitaxial films grown on orientations other than (001) can exhibit superior properties, including higher purity, enhanced surface flatness, and lower defect density. Furthermore, it has been suggested that utilizing these alternative orientations may enable the fabrication of devices with a higher Power Figure of Merit (PFOM) compared to those on the (001) plane. In response to these developments, NCT has decided to expand its wafer lineup to include orientations other than (001) and to actively supply them to universities, public research institutions, and corporate laboratories. By supporting a broad range of research and development, we aim to facilitate the discovery of new insights that maximize the inherent potential of Ga₂O₃.
